Private Eventsand Catering
Every event we host begins the same way our mornings do, with flour, eggs, and pasta rolled and cut by hand in our Encinitas kitchen. We pair Northern Italian tradition with the best of what California is growing, and bring it to the table with the warmth of a family supper.
Reserve Pastaria Vivi for your group, or invite our team into your home. The menus below are a starting point. They change with the season and can be built from anything we are making.
Two ways to gather
Where we host
At Pastaria Vivi, or at your table.
At pastaria VIVI
Private dining after hours, or for full buyouts
Reserve Pastaria Vivi in Encinitas for a private dinner once the market closes, or book a full buyout of the shop for your event. Our communal dining table seats up to 12 guests, steps from the counter where their pasta was made, with Italian and California wines poured by our team. For larger groups, book a full market buyout.
Ideal for birthdays, rehearsal dinners, team evenings, and hands-on pasta classes.
At your home
Dinners, plus passed and stationary appetizers
Everything is prepped in our permitted kitchen. Our culinary and service team then cooks and finishes each course on site as the menu calls for, and leaves your kitchen as we found it.
We host up to 100 guests at private homes, and sometimes more depending on the event. Ideal for gatherings across North County, from Encinitas and Carlsbad to Rancho Santa Fe and Del Mar.

Pasta & Tiramisu Experience
A private, hands-on evening in our kitchen after the market closes. Your group rolls, cuts, and shapes fresh pasta alongside our chefs, layers a tiramisu, then sits down to dinner built around what you made. The tiramisu is enjoyed after the class, and any leftovers are yours to take home.
At the board
Fresh egg dough, mixed, kneaded and rolled by hand. Hand-cut tagliatelle and farfalle. Tiramisu, layered together and enjoyed after class.
At the table, three courses
Antipasti of fresh-baked focaccia, handmade burrata and Prosciutto di Parma. Your pasta, finished by our chefs with a seasonal sauce. Dolce of the tiramisu you made, with fresh cannoli.
In the glass
Curated Italian wines, a pairing selected by our team and served with dinner.

Before you ask
Catering questions
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can, and earlier for December. Events booked within 72 hours of the date carry a 15% rush fee, and final guest counts and entrée selections are due 7 days out.
How many people can you seat at Pastaria Vivi?
Our communal dining table seats up to 12 guests. Larger groups can book a full market buyout, and for events at a private home we can host up to 100 guests, sometimes more depending on the event.
Can you host during normal hours?
Yes, as a full buyout of the shop, with a $1,000 minimum per operating hour. Private dinners happen after the market closes.
Can you do vegetarian, or work around allergies?
Yes, with advance notice. The plated menu includes a vegetarian secondo and we prepare many allergy-aware dishes. Our kitchen handles wheat, eggs, dairy and tree nuts daily, so we cannot promise an allergen-free environment.
Can we bring our own wine?
At the pastaria, yes, for a $35 corkage fee per 750 ml bottle. For events at your home, the host provides all beverages and our team does not pour alcohol away from Pastaria Vivi.
What do you need from me for an event at my home?
A table, seating and dinnerware unless we arrange rentals, a clean kitchen with a working oven and stovetop, nearby parking for our team, and all beverages.
